With 10-days to go, Valentine’s Day is creeping up on us and you may be freaking out about what to do for your significant other. Or, you may be concerned of time on the day because of Valentine’s Day falling on a Thursday this year. Fret not, I’m here to bring you with 12 cute, cosy and lazy date night ideas for Valentine’s Day where you don’t even have to leave the comfort of your own home. Perfect? Marks & Spencers (UK) Dine for Two
Each year, M&S do an amazing dine for two deal where you can go in store pick out your mains, your side dishes, your desserts and a bottle of wine. Sometimes they even throw in Valentine’s Day chocolates.

Movie & Popcorn Date Night
Going out to the cinema is nice every once in a while, but with ticket prices constantly on the rise and food/drinks priced on a ridiculous scale, a night out to the pictures can put quite the hole in your wallet. This is why my next date night option includes, putting a movie on at home, dimming the lights, grabbing all the snacks and snuggling up in a nice warm blanket with your partner.
Cook a 3-Course Meal Together
Prior to Valentine’s Day, go out with your partner to the shops and pick out some ingredients to cook yourselves a nice 3-course meal. On the day, enjoy the process of spending time together, cooking each course and eating all the delicious foods along the way.
To make it even more fancy, set a table as though you are in a restaurant and finish it off with some lovely lit candles.
At Home Spa Night
Who doesn’t enjoy a little pamper? Get the robes out, light the candles, put some nice calming back music on and pamper each other as though you were at a fancy little spa. No one in their right mind is going to complain about a free massage in the comfort of their own home!
Wine & Cheese Night
Again, before Valentine’s Day, head to the shops to pick out your most favourite bottle of wine (or two) and a few different cheeses to make your own cheese board. On the day, put together a nice spread of cheeses, set the table with candles and serve with your wine.
Fondue (Normal & Chocolate)
Fondue is the easiest, most laid-back dinner idea that anyone can pull off. Sit around chatting for hours, cooking and eating all the foods you’ve prepared. It’s the perfect dinner for chatty couples! Then there’s the chocolate fondue, there is just something about chocolate covered fruit on Valentine’s Day that just amps up the romance in any situation.
This is one the whole family can enjoy. Although there is a big emphasis on Valentine’s Day to be with your significant other, it is also a day to spend with those you love. What better way to involve your family and your partner than to host a games night? This is so easy and laid-back, it can be done in the middle of the week or on the weekend and gets everybody involved.
Breakfast in Bed
A classic. Since Valentine’s Day falls in the middle of the week this year, I can imagine it’ll be difficult for many couples to dedicate the day to each other. So, why not start this day off on the right foot by making your lover some delicious breakfast in bed. That way, if something comes up at work or something else life may throw at you, you’ve already had that special time with your special someone.
Again, you cannot go wrong with chocolate on Valentine’s Day. So, what better way to incorporate it that cooking s’mores alongside a nice indoor fire with your special someone. All you need is graham crackers, marshmallows and your finest chocolate. If you have kids, they will love this as well!
Binge Watch Netflix
Many of us do this on a daily basis but, how many of us do this with our partners? Pick a series neither of you have watched, snuggle up on the couch, get your snacks ready and watch away the day.
Most of us can probably relate to how expensive drinks and cocktails can be when you’re out at a bar. So, why not go out, grab the ingredients you need and become your very own bartender? Best part of this is, you can make each other a different cocktail and see who did it best!
With how busy our lives are these days we tend to forget to enjoy the simple things in life. Such as, our beautiful sky. Have you ever just looked up and wondered, how? These days, there are free constellation apps that you can get on your phone to help you point out the different clusters of stars and what they are. Grab your partner and get looking. This is something so easy to bond over and gets you off of social media or out from in front of a television screen.
